Notes, Additions and Corrections

  • Case Book BL Harley MS 2143 fo. 53v. Alderman Some his man committed for faming himself to be another’s man and serving Sir Richard Martin with a subpoena in his chamber with his sword in his hand. Upon an information that a man unknown being the servant of Alderman Some came to the house of Alderman Martin being sick, and counterfeited himself to be the servant of one Mr Corbett and said that he had a special message to deliver to the said Sir Richard Martin which was merely false for that upon his coming to him (being sick in his chamber) he did not only use himself very unreverently, but did with a sword in his hand serve him with a subpoena to testify for the said Some, for which contemptuous behaviour and false message he was committed to the Fleet.
