  • STAC 5/A8/31 ODNB Brettergh [née Bruen], Katherine (1579–1601), exemplar of godly life by Steve Hindle. “Little Woolton in Childwall, Lancashire” “a local seminary priest, Thurstan Hunt, and the lord of the manors of Speke and Garston, Edward Norris. In turn, William Brettergh's attempt as high constable of West Derby hundred to apprehend recusants within the parishes of Huyton and Childwall in May 1600 provoked not only a full-scale riot but the maiming of Brettergh's cattle on two separate occasions”
  • STAC 5/N2/3 - Dorchester, Oxon. Attempt to gain copyhold tenement, which had been granted by Lord Norris to a poor widow for her life, by claiming debts of her late husband.(dk)
