  • Case Book BL Harley MS 2143 fo. 27r. Riot. Defendant being warned by a justice of peace to search for the king’s service and discharged as riot dismissed. Morris, plaintiff; Preston et al: riot which was dismissed for that Sir Thomas Weath, a justice of peace, informed the court that he for the king’s service directed his warrant for the defendants to search the plaintiff’s house for lewd company whereas the riot complained of, which the court would not meddle with, was done for the king’s service.
