Attorney Rex; Secretary Davison: for a contempt and imprisoning him being principal secretary and a privy counsellor for that he having a warrant signed with the Queen’s hand and direction given him by the Queen herself to pass it under the great seal and not to acquaint any person there with but to keep it secret until her further pleasure was known, he contrary to that did acquaint some of the privy council therewith and told them that Her Majesty’s pleasure was that the same should be executed which was done; before the Queen’s further pleasure was then known and without her privity; 1000 marks fine and remanded to the Tower there to remain at Her Majesty’s pleasure.
