Maisters and Danvers, being 2 justices of peace, were convicted for bailing the said Gilbert and Brigge, being apprehended of felony upon hue and cry, being not liable by law but for that it appeared upon certificate of the Lord Chief Justice and the Lord Chief Baron who examined the defendants that they had simply bailed them by ignorant juries without either malice, partiality, or corruption, and that they were fined by them at the assizes for the same offence at £100 a piece and the denfants having been but lately made justices and not experimented were therefore committed and £100 fine.
