Les reportes del cases in Camera Stellata, 1593 to 1609 from the original ms. of John Hawarde edited by William Paley Baildon Published 1894 Page 26

In Camera Stellata, 28 Januarij, anno Elizab. Reginae 38, coram consilio ibidem, termino Hillarij. Anno Domini 1595.

Kuke, the Queens Attorney, informed against one Throgmorton, esquire, Justice of the Peace for Gloucestershire, and three clerks, for deceit in presenting to an advowson of the Queens. And he preferred articles against Throgmorton for him to be examined upon, and this was granted by the Court. One of the clerks went to the Bishop of Gloucester, and advised him to admit no one, for within fourteen days he would procure the warrant of the Lord Keeper for his own admittance, and in the meantime he appealed in the [Court of] Arches, to the prejudice of the Queens title. The Attorney moved for a stay of the suit in the [Court of] Arches, and for a trial of the deceit, which was granted by the Court. But the Archbishop doubted if this Court could stay proceedings in the [Court of] Arches.
