Instructions for Data Entry:
Entry of data requires a password. To receive a password, follow the instructions on the WAALT Main Page, the link for which appears here in the left margin.
Each county segment begins with a template: use the template by copying it and pasting it in the appropriate place, but leave the template clean for others to use. The template begins with the line with three apostrophes and the word "Parish" and ends with the bar and curly bracket. For parishes not yet listed, copy the whole template and paste it in the appropriate alphabetical order. The template contains two sets of bars that on the edit page appear as columns that will appear on the display page as a row. The first set of bars remains blank. The second set has the type of information to be entered: to enter the rector name, for instance, replace "rector/vicar" with the person's name. There are two places for comments that allow the entry of additional information that would be helpful. The final entry point is for the link: copy the address bar of the AALT image and paste it in between the brackets: the brackets must remain because that is the coding for a link. The last line in the set is a bar and a dash: that is the coding for the end of the segment and is not for data entry. After a space there is a bar and a curly bracket followed by two two codes for breaks: that is the coding for the end of the information for a particular parish and the coding provides the border around the parish information.
If the parish is already listed, then you only need to copy the set of bars with the categories listed (like "rector/vicar") and paste it in the appropriate chronological space in the appropriate parish segment and enter your information over the words in the pasted template. Do not copy the bar and curly bracket, since that code is already listed. Leave a couple spaces between entries, and enter the new data entry codes before the bar and curly bracket that ends the parish segment.
If the rector/vicar you have found is already listed, please enter the information still, since entries will not specify how long the person held the office: only additional entries will provide that information.
