1325: H1349 A: Yorkshire. Presented that Master Richard de Eryum late canon of St Peters, York, while alive gave Ralph de Drayton parson of Skelton 100s for the repair of a certain bridge of Neusom over the River Wisk in Northallerton and Great Smitheton, the common passage between York and Newcastle upon Tyne. The bridge is now so broken down that no one can walk or ride it, but Drayton has retained the 100s for six years. [2]
