Whereas William PERKES and Joseph TYLEY by their bond dated the 25th August in the 2nd year of his present Majesty’s reign because bond unto his Majesty in the sum of 1100 conditioned for the payment of unto the [?] of the duty on salt in the Port of Bristol for his majesty I the sum of 631 13s 4d for the duty on salt imported into said port by William PERKES upon which bond there having been several proeedings had against the said William PERKES and the said Joseph TYLEY as extent was awarded there upon against the said Joseph TYLEY directed unto the sheriffs of the city of Bristol returnable the [?] of this term where upon Henry NASH and John [?] Esquire Sheriffs of the said city have returned that the said Joseph TYLEY had paid into their hands towards the money due to his majesty on the bond 200 which they had in their hands ready to pay his Majesty’s use as by the said return may of [app?] by judgement on the back of the said bond It appears that there is but £151 16s 8d due upon the said bond which with the charge for prosecuting of the same amounting to £13 3s 8d. It was now prayed that the charges might be paid out of the said money in the sheriffs’ hands and upon reading of the said return. It is ordered by the court that the said Sheriffs of the city of Bristol or their under sheriff deducting their poundage out of the money in their hands unto the cashier for the commissioners for the duty on salt for his majesty’s use the said £151 16s 8d and that he pay unto Mr JOHNSTONE [?] to the said Commissioners the said £13 3s 8d for the charges of prosecuting the said bond for which […] to be the said sheriff’s discharge for so much of the said money.
