  • TNA SP 12/39, 46. 1566 April 3. Edward Browne, Mayor of Rochester, to the Council. Christopher Marquis of Bawdwyn [Baden] is now prisoner under arrest in the said city. His outrageous behaviour. Prays that the said Marquis may be made to obey the laws, or that he may be discharged of keeping him.
  • TNA SP 12/39, 47. 1566 April 4. Petition of Ric. Bramley butcher, Robert Audrey poulterer, and other tradesmen, to the same, praying for payment for goods supplied the household of the Lady Cecilia [Marchioness of Baden].

Are sorry the Marquis of Baden has quitted England in debt. German news.

  • TNA SP 12/39, 62. 1566 April 29. Declaration by the Mayor, &c. of Dover, that one George Northe, gentleman, has applied for a precept to attach the Lady Cecilia or her goods for the sum of 330l., but that it had been stayed by the Lord Abergavenny.
  • TNA SP 12/39, 63. 1566 April? [Dr. Humfrey ?] to Cecil. Prays that the articles of the Archbishop may be some ways mitigated, and that pastors may be relieved from observing certain ceremonies, &c.
