President of a warrant for callinge of a Parliament in the vacancie of the L. Keeper directed to other of the Lords anno Eliz primo 4 December.

The like made to the Lo Thresurer and the Erle of leycester Keeper of the Great Seale for the time of ye vacancie 4 Aprill 1579.

Elizabeth To our right trusty and right welbeloved Cosen and Counsellor Edward of Darbie Francis Erle of Bedford and William Erle of Pembroke and to our right trustie and right welbeloved Councillor Edward Lord Clinton our high admyrall of Englande and to our trustie and right welbeloved Councellor William Cicill knight our principall secretarie greetinge. Whereas we by the advice of our Councill for certain greate and urgente causes concerninge us the good . . . and comen weale of this our Realme and of the Church of England, and for the good order and continuance of the same have appointed and ordained a parliament to be holden at our Cittie of Westminster the xxiiith of January next comm.. In which cases divers and sondrie writes are to be dyrected forthe under our greatr Seale of England as will unto the Prelates, Bishopps and Nobilie of this our Realme, as also for the Eleccion of knights Citizens and Bargesses of our severall Countys, cities and broughes townes of the same to be presente at the said Parliament at the day and place aforesaid. Forasmuch as we have not hitherto determined to whom we will comitte ye keeping of our greate seale beinge at this presente in our owne Custodie, we have thought good for the spetiall truste and confidence which we have in your fideleties, wisdomes, and discicions to comitt the order and direccion for the makeinge and sendinge for of the said writes unto yow. Wherfore we will and command you forthwith uppon the recipte hereof and by Warrante of the same to cease sacke and so many writes to be made and sealed under our said great seal for thaccomplishment of that same as in like cases hathe bin heretofore used and accostomed. And this Bill signed with our hand shall be unto you, as unto everie suche Clerke and Clerkes as as shall make and passe the said writes a sufficient warrante and discharge in that behalfe. Gevin etc the first yeare of our Reigne 4 Decembir.
