Notes, Additions and Corrections

  • Case Book BL Harley MS 2143 fo. 46v. Actions. Informations in the Marches of Wales staid by letters out of the King’s Bench and this court. Lynger, plaintiff: several informations exhibited by the attorney in the Marches of Wales against the plaintiff for matters of perjury supposed to be committed in the spiritual court touching tithes, which the court had discharged by writ of prohibition and directed their letters to the Lord President for stay of the information there for that the offences were not committed within the jurisdiction of that court which were accordingly staid; also other informations against the same party staid by the like letters of this court.
  • Case Book BL Harley MS 2143 fo. 57v. Contempt. Persons that assisted others in [doing?] of violence upon the serving of process of the court no parties to the suit committed for that contempt. Roe and Billson were committed for a contempt mentioned in an affidavit done by them, upon him that had served them with a subpoena at the suit of Lyngem, plaintiff, and an attachment was also awarded against such other persons as assisted them in the doing of violence to the said parties that served the said subpoena to be examined touching their knowledge and whether they knew of the process at that time, as such of them as shall confess that they knew of the process at the time of serving of them to be committed without motion, two of the parties being examined did clear themselves and were discharged and of the rest were called up, and did clear themselves; to have costs.
