I com’end me hartelie to yo’. P[er]ceaving by yor l’re the death of Mr darell, whome god p[ar]don, & for whome I am hartelie sorie for that he was a man of good cundici’ns and srvice in whose office I think Mr abington might be well placed & well rewarded, wch I leave to yor discretion, for I mynd not to speak in yt.

I have sent yor l’re to Mr denys, and so I have my l’re to Mr abington to rest one week in the countrie to mak p[er]fect his remaynes at Newhaven: at portesmouth wt Mr darell and Mr hannyngton, wch ij remaynes he had of me.

The doings in london be mad p[er]fect and dispached(?), and I will not rest, if god give me lif, & bring the rest of his charge into good order, and that shortelie, as you shall knowe.

I have written to the quenes matie, wherof I send you a copie wherin speak for the furtheranc’ of yt, that you may, I pray yow.

[f.77v] I p[er]ceive by Sr hughe poulets l’res, who was present as you knowe for the causes of Newhaven that all yt I wrote to you of. Reads sayengs to me is true. saving that Chatillon and his band were not there.

And he writts also, that after thagreemt was made he sent to the constable to knowe yf he wold bye of the quene suche grayne and store of p[ro]vicion, as there remayned of hir grace. wch the constable liked well to do and sent officers for that purpos who tok in charge the wheate, the malt the otes the pease and beans, the cole and divers other things, wch was putt in writing, and shall come to the quenes matie by the said Sr Hughe who I mynd to preasse to have knowlege therof, for that I shall therby understand what is saved towards the quenes losse, and for that this ys but a geasse, I pray you take yt in good p[ar]te. for if I could more certenelie give you knowlege and more largelie, you shuld be sure to have yt and shalbe for somuche as cumeth to my hand. Wherof assure yor self. Written the xixth of august 1563.
