Setting Up Wireless Service in Your Area

UH Wireless Network Service is provided by IT. UH facilities space owner(s), Faculty and/or Staff interested in establishing coverage for your department, area or groups, please contact Information Technology Communication Services at 713-743-1111 or send e-mail to custserv@central.uh.edu requesting a "Customer Needs Analysis" for UH Wireless Network Service.

For security reasons, customers should not connect their own wireless access point to the UH wired network without assistance. Customers in areas not covered by UHWireless who have set up their own wireless access points, or others who want to bring their access point into compliance can register their access point by using the Non-IT Access Point Registration Form. Safari can't be used to access the Non-IT Access Point Registration Form. All wireless access points connected to the UH wired network must be registered with and authorized by IT. Unauthorized access points have the potential to interfere with authorized UH access points and present a security risk to network resources. The process of registration includes submitting the online form and ensuring the access point has security turned on. Devices that use the wireless network must have VPN security and authentication.
