Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement Director Visits Campus Oct. 27

Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) Director Michael R. Bromwich will visit UH on Wednesday, Oct. 27, as part of a five-campus tour to recruit students from the nation’s top colleges and universities for careers in public service. Bromwich will talk to engineering students about careers with BOEMRE, which wants to expand its field of inspectors and engineers as part of its mission to strengthen its regulatory and oversight functions.

The agency hopes to extend offers for about 60 full-time position and 15-20 intern opportunities in the Gulf region by the end of the year. Bromwich will speak to interested students at 10 a.m. in Engineering Building 1, room N61-D. He will give a similar address from 11:10 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. that will be aimed at increasing diversity in the BOEMRE. That meeting will be in Engineering Lecture Hall L2D2.
