Rudley Names Sole Finalist for TSU Presidency

January 15, 2008

John Rudley, former interim UH System chancellor and UH president, was named sole finalist for the presidency of Texas Southern University.

Texas law requires that the TSU Board of Regents give public notice at least 21 days prior to a meeting in which final action is taken on the employment of a university chancellor or president.
If approved, Rudley, who has returned to his position as UH System vice chancellor and UH vice president for administration and finance, will replace Priscilla Slade, who left TSU in 2006.

UH System Board of Regents appointed Rudley, who began his career at UH in 2002, as interim chancellor and president after Jay Gogue accepted the Auburn University presidency in May.
