UH Offers Experts on Hurricanes

UH Cancels Classes until at least noon, Sept 13

To ensure the protection of our students, faculty and staff, the University of Houston is canceling all classes that begin after 5 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, September 12, 2007, and will not reopen for classes until 12 noon on Thursday, September, 13, 2007. The University will be closed for all faculty and staff, and only job critical personnel should report to campus.

UH officials will be monitoring the situation throughout the evening and will determine whether the campus should remain closed past noon on Thursday. An announcement regarding the campus’ afternoon and evening status will be made Thursday morning.

Updated information will be circulated via e-mail, phone and text messages through the PIER emergency system and will be posted on the web site’s front page as well as on the site. Additionally, media outlets will be alerted so the public can be informed.
