Cougars Can Give to Memorial Fund in Honor of Gogue's Late Mother

The University of Houston community can contribute to a memorial fund in honor of Martha Brewer Gogue, the late mother of UH President Jay Gogue. Mrs. Gogue, 82, died at her home on March 8 in Waycross, Ga., after a short illness.

To donate to the fund, send a check made out to the University of Houston, with the notation designated to the Martha B. Gogue Memorial Fund, to Spencer Yantis, associate vice president, University Advancement, University of Houston, 204 E. Cullen Building, Houston, TX 77204-2021.

Mrs. Gogue was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. She was the owner of Rosedale Florist for 38 years and a member of Winona Park United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, M. J. Gogue of Waycross; a son, Jay Gogue of Houston; a daughter, Sharon Barnett of Iota, La.; five grandchildren, Jason Gogue, Alison Gogue, Barrett Gogue, Jennifer Barnett and Jessica Barnett; two great grandchildren, Maddy and Jack; and a brother-in-law, Jim Weaver.
