BEVERLY EVANS: LEARNING, LEADING

Evans, a Staff Excellence Award recipient, is the Department of Campus Recreation custodian supervisor.

In her role, she supervises the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center’s custodial operations, manages and trains other custodians and inspects work in all areas. Evans performs custodian duties as needed, maintains supplies and records daily time sheets. Additionally, she helped develop a customized Spanish and English training program and is participating in an executive housekeeping certification program.

“Her characteristics truly exceed what’s required and expected. Leading. Learning. Excellence. Beverly Evans,” wrote Cheryl Pleasant, building maintenance manager for the department, in nominating Evans.

“I thank everyone who thought I was worthy of this award,” Evans said.

Award recipients receive a certificate and a $1,000 check.
