LAZER’S PERSONAL TOUCH ADDS UP TO STUDENT SUCCESS

Ron Lazer, assistant professor of accountancy and taxation, combines firmness and compassion in his teaching style. His colleagues attest that he will contact students who miss class to see if they are okay and help them catch up.

One student wrote in a letter of support, “He goes above and beyond to make a connection with his students. It is obvious that he wants every student to successfully pass his class by interacting himself in every way possible to help his students understand the concepts. Not only is he our teacher, he is also our friend, adviser, counselor, etc.”

Lazer’s dedication to his students since he arrived in 2004 has been recognized with the 2008 Teaching Excellence Award, which includes a $5,000 stipend.
