RAGAZZO EARNS SECOND TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARD

Robert A. Ragazzo describes himself as “an aggressive Socratic teacher” who develops legal concepts in his courses through a series of questions and answers.

Thanks to his Socratic teaching method and his commitment to his students, Ragazzo, UH Law Foundation Professor of Law, received a 2007 Teaching Excellence Award.

Ragazzo is a two-time Teaching Excellence Award recipient. He also received the award in 1993.

One of his former students wrote in a letter supporting his nomination that Ragazzo is “an academic and a teacher, which makes him an invaluable asset to any student fortunate enough to cross his path.”

“I am especially pleased to receive the university’s Teaching Excellence Award because it is reflects the value that colleagues across the campus place on my teaching,” Ragazzo said.
Recipients of the Teaching Excellence Award receive a trophy and a $5,000 check.
