ONLINE PARKING REGISTRATION AVAILABLE
Online parking registration for faculty and staff runs through June 30. Several changes have been made to the faculty/staff online parking registration system. Go to www.uh.edu/parking and click on E-Parking Services and then Faculty/Staff Parking Registration. Faculty and staff will log in using their PeopleSoft employee ID and date of birth. Contact the parking and transportation office at 713-743-1097 or email parking@uh.edu for more information.

STAFF MEMBERS SEEK VANPOOL RIDERS
Faculty, staff and students who are interested in joining the I-10/Westpark Toll Road/Katy Vanpool are asked to contact Juanita Broughton at 713-743-8723. TWO NEW ORGANIZATIONS OPEN TO FACULTY, STAFF
The UH Toastmasters Club offers instruction and skill development to help people speak effectively, organize and conduct meetings, and motivate others. Named “The Cougar Pause,” the club meets twice monthly at noon. For more information, contact Althea Neilson at 713-743-5786 or aneilson@central.uh.edu. STAFF COUNCIL OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS

The application for 2008-2009 Staff Council Scholarships is available now at www.uh.edu/sc/. The council provides 10 $500 scholarships to employees to attend degree- or job-related academic credit classes at UH. The deadline is March 14.

STAFF AWARD DEADLINE APPROACHES
Nominations for Staff Excellence Awards must be submitted by 5 p.m. March 21 in the Department of Human Resources. Award recipients receive a certificate and $1,000. The nomination form is available at www.uh.edu/hr/resources/staffawardsforms.htm.

UH SIGNS COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH BELIZE UNIVERSITY
The College of Pharmacy and the University of Belize Faculty of Nursing & Allied Health approved a memorandum of understanding to explore potential joint academic training programs and research projects for students and faculty members.

RUDLEY NAMED SOLE FINALIST FOR TSU PRESIDENCY
John Rudley, vice president for administration and finance, was named sole finalist for the TSU presidency. He served recently as interim UHS chancellor and UH president.

NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR FACULTY AWARDS
UH is seeking nominations for various faculty awards. Nominations for the Awards for Excellence in Research and Scholarship Program are due by 5 p.m., Jan. 31. For more information, visit www.research.uh.edu/

PASWORD RESET SITE RENAMED
The Department of Information Technology Computer Account Management (CAM) Web site enables faculty, staff and students to access such services as creating CougarNet accounts. Formerly the Password Reset Web site, CAM is available at www.uh.edu/infotech/password.
