FLOWERS NAILS STAFF EXCELLENCE AWARD

Carpenter Larry Flowers has an eye for excellence, “even as he perfects the simplest assignments,” his nominator wrote.

Flowers, who joined UH in 1993, “is called quite often as the University Center (UC) encounters last-minute requests. Without hesitation, he simply says ‘okay,’” according to his nominator.

“He presents himself daily in a professional manner around students, staff, faculty and guests of the UC. He always takes the initiative to find better ways to improve the aging facility we operate,” his nominator wrote. “His eye for detail and persistence to achieve high-quality service for students, staff, faculty and guests demonstrate his dedication, not just to the UC, but to UH as a whole.”

Award recipients receive a framed certificate and a $1,000 check.
