University of Houston System Regent Lynden B. Rose will draw
from his own experiences as a UH student when he speaks at the
Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society induction ceremony this week.
The free event will start at 5 p.m., Sunday, April 15 in the
University Center's Houston Room. There, the organization will
induct 145 freshmen who hold a minimum 3.5 GPA.
During the ceremony, Rose will commend the students for their
early academic achievement and encourage them to continue on
their path of academic excellence. He also will share his own
success story as a student-athlete.
An attorney, Rose earned his undergraduate and law degrees
from UH, where he also was co-captain of the Cougar basketball
team that reached the NCAA Final Four in 1982. He was appointed
a regent in 2004.
Alpha Lambda Delta is an honor society that recognizes academic
excellence among freshman students. Its primary focus is academic
