LONGTIME ANNOUNCER OF COUGAR
FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL GAMES DIES
Mike Edmonds, 59, longtime announcer of the University
of Houston football and basketball games, died recently of cancer.
A veteran Houston radio broadcaster, Edmonds announced
UH games for 20 years from the early 1970s to the early 1990s.
He is survived by his wife, Geri Konigsberg; two
daughters, Christi Edmonds of Pasadena and Sharon Bosley of Lorena;
and two grandsons. The family has designated for memorials the
University of Texas Harris County Psychiatric Center, 2800 S.
MacGregor, Houston 77021, where Edmonds worked for years as a
volunteer, or a church or charity of choice.
