Lawrence Lessig, C. Wendell and Edith M. Carlsmith Professor
of Law at Stanford University, will speak at
10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, in the M.D. Anderson Library’s
Rockwell Pavilion.
Lessing, one of the nation’s leading authorities on intellectual
property law, will discuss the impact of digital technologies
on faculty-created digital content. His lecture is free and
open to the UH community.
Lessing is the founder of Stanford University Center for Internet
and Society. He is the author of several books, including “Free
Culture” and “The Future of Ideas.” He chairs
the Creative Commons project and serves on the boards of the
Free Software Foundation, the Electronic Frontier Foundation,
the Public Library of Science and Public Knowledge.
