Paula A. Kelleher, University of Houston System treasurer and
UH alumnus, died recently from cancer.
“Paula was a devoted and committed professional whose
principal aim was the advancement of the university through
her impeccable work as a steward of public and private funds,”
said John Rudley, vice chancellor for administration and finance.
“She was loved, respected and admired by her many colleagues
throughout the UH System, and she will be greatly missed.”
Kelleher began her UH System career as the assistant manager
in accounts payable in 1985. Two years later, she accepted the
senior financial planning analyst position in the Office of
Budget and Planning. She was promoted to treasurer in 1991.
Kelleher received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from
Trinity College in 1967 and a Master of Business Administration
from UH in 1983. She co-authored seven publications and six
extracts on biochemical processes in the retina.
Kelleher is survived by her husband, Richard D. Hinds; brother,
Edward P. Kelleher Jr; and sisters Carol A. Kelleher and Agnes
K. Griffin.
