The results for the 2005 University of Houston Staff Council
election are in. Approximately 13 percent of UH’s staff
members voted in the election, which was held on Aug. 10.
“I thank the staff members who made time to review the
candidates’ qualifications and participate in this election,”
said Joe Papick, Staff Council president and director of the
Child Welfare Education Project in UH’s Graduate School
of Social Work. “I know that the newly elected representatives
will serve their constituents well. I encourage staff to take
the time to communicate with their representatives as issues
that will likely be dealt with over the year will affect each
of us.”
