TUNG HO UNLOCKS KEY TO STAFF EXCELLENCE
Tung Manh (Tom) Ho’s colleagues and supervisors describe
the journey locksmith for Residential Life and Housing (RLH) as
a dedicated employee who clearly deserves a 2005 Staff Excellence
Award.
“I don’t know if it comes from his experiences as an
engineering officer on the battlefields of Vietnam or just plain
stubbornness, but Tom refuses to believe that things cannot be fixed,”
said Danny L. Murphy, RLH maintenance supervisor.
A 26-year veteran of UH, Ho loves the university. “I might
retire from here in about four or five years,” he said.
But even after his retirement, his legacy of excellence may continue.
His two sons, Tuong and Toan, UH alumni, and his daughter-in-law,
Rosalba, work at the university.
“I tell them it’s a good place to work,” Ho said.
Staff Excellence Award honorees receive a certificate and a $1,000
check.
