ROBINSON EDUCATES AT HEALTH CENTER
Floyd Robinson, director of UH’s Health Center,
recalls the words of his former employer, the headmaster of Mercersburg
Academy in Pennsylvania.
“He told me right before I left the school, ‘Once an
educator, always an educator,’” said Robinson, a recipient
of a 2005 Staff Excellence Award. Those words have held true for
Robinson, as he serves not only as the center’s senior administrator,
but also as an educator.
“It’s a great privilege to educate the college campus
about various health issues,” said Robinson, who also frequently
speaks to community organizations such as the Urban League.
During his 11-year tenure at UH, Robinson has added new clinic services
to the health center, including a men’s clinic and full-time
psychiatrists.
Kathy Anderson, chief pharmacist at the Health Center, said, “Besides
my own father, I can think of no other man I respect more.”
Staff Excellence Award winners receive a certificate and a $1,000
check.
