The University of Houston Child Care Center has a few openings for children ages 2 ½ to 5 in its pre-kindergarten rooms for fall 2004. Open spots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parents interested in enrolling their child at the center can visit its Web site, which describes the center’s early childhood development program and introduces its staff. The Web site also provides information on tuition and fees, under the “enrollment” tab.

The center opened in 1975. Currently, approximately 160 children are enrolled at the center, which strives to foster positive self-esteem, support the development of social skills, strengthen communication skills necessary for listening, reading, writing and speaking and assess the individual needs of each child, among others.
