“the connection” Wins
HTLA First Amendment Award
HoustonPBS (KUHT-TV) weekly primetime show "the
connection" won the Houston Trial Lawyers Association Annual
First Amendment Award. The award was presented for the “best
use of freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment.” “the
connection” was recognized for its body of work over the past
year.
Highlights of “the connection’s”
work over the past year include a special three-part series of mayoral
debates. “The People’s Debate” series offered
citizens an unprecedented opportunity to shape the campaign dialogue
in Houston’s mayoral race.
“the connection’s” managing producer,
Julie Coan, leads a team of award-winning producers, including Patricia
Gras, Laura Lucas and Ernie Manouse, who anchors the show.
