O’Quinn, a 1967 UH Law Center alumnus and former regent, died this morning (Oct. 29) reportedly in a one-car accident on Allen Parkway, near downtown Houston. He was 68. O’Quinn was a committed advocate of UH academics and athletics for more than 40 years. His generous donations allowed for renovations to the John M. O’Quinn Law Library and O’Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium. Additionally, O’Quinn served on the UH System Board of Regents from 1993-1999.
Ivancevich, Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Chair and professor of organizational behavior and management, died Monday (Oct. 26) at the age of 70. Ivancevich, a longtime faculty member, provided leadership that extended across the academic spectrum. In addition to teaching, he served in several capacities including provost, business dean, chair of the management department and associate dean for research.
