University of Houston Forensic (UH Forensics) has been hosting speech camps for students in grades eight through twelve for a total of nine years. However, upon strict examination of the state of forensics in 2008, UH Forensics made a bold decision to reach down toward the very foundation of learning and created opportunities for elementary school students. At the UH Speech Camp, members of the Forensic Society, attempt to educate our youth in areas of speech, debate, and theatre. Students will learn skills such as, impromptu speaking, vocal variety, characterization, writing speech introductions, etc. Forensic Society members also teach debate concept including; resolution analysis, and Parliamentary debate tactics, etc. While learning how to develop their performances, the students are creating performances that will be showcased at the end of each week to show their parents how much they’ve learned. Please give your student the opportunity to develop skills that will last a lifetime. Come and join our camp in the future!!
