Mike has been coaching National competitors for 28 years – with students/teams ranking in the Top 25 of the U.S. for each of these years. Mike emphasizes that all students’ first priorities should be on their academic performance – and that competition is a distant second priority.

As a college competitor, Chris has won National championships/recognitions seven times. Without question, UH students aggressively pursue Chris' coaching expertise for preparation for National competition. His greatest love is the direction of contests and programs for children in K-8 grades. He currently directs 14 events of the UH Speech & Debate Team.

Maria (Mafe) is a UH Senior majoring in Political Science and Spanish. As a competitor, Mafe has won National championships/recognitions in both public speaking and interpretation events. Mafe manages the summer speech/theatre camps offered for students in grades 3-8. Her most unique contribution has been her development of Spanish events at UH's contests for elementary schools.

Ed is a UH Senior majoring in Communication. As a competitor, Ed has been very active as a National competitor and has been awarded/recognized three times throughout the U.S. Ed is VERY active in the volunteering and community events of the UH Speech & Debate Team. He is instrumental in guaranteeing the successes of all National college contests held on the UH Main Campus. Ed is one of the lead counselors in the summer camps offered for students in grades 3-8.
Senior CaptainJacob Koshak
Jacob is a UH Junior majoring in Communication. As a competitor, Jacob has been won three National championships/recognitions in public speaking and Congress events. He is instrumental in guaranteeing the successes of all National college contests held on the UH Main Campus. Jacob provides all of the coaching/teaching of debate events for UH students who represent the University in collegiate contests in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Parliamentary Debate, IPDA Debate, and Congress.
Senior CaptainAlex Lacamu
Alex is a UH Sophomore majoring in History. Alex is VERY active in the volunteering and community events of the UH Speech & Debate Team. He is instrumental in guaranteeing the successes of all National college contests held on the UH Main Campus. Alex is invaluable in handling the technology needs of the UH Speech & Debate Team for all on-campus events. Alex is one of the lead counselors in the summer camps offered for students in grades 3-8.
