Vincent Donnelly
JOHN AND REBECCA MOORES PROFESSOR
SENIOR RESEARCHER NETS PROFESSORSHIP
As a world leader in plasma modeling and simulations, Vincent
Donnelly has made his mark at the University of Houston
in just a few short years.
Since beginning his tenure at the department of chemical and biomolecular
engineering in 2002, Donnelly has been the principal investigator
or co-principal investigator for grants totaling $3.4 million.
He is now one of the highest-funded researchers in the Cullen College
of Engineering. Donnelly also has received the university’s
2007 Senior Research Award.
Additionally, Donnelly has co-developed a technique that allows
nanotech devices to be mass-produced, which could lead to a higher
resolution TV than LCD display.
His pioneering work has led to his being named a John and Rebecca
Moores Professor. The professorship is a five-year renewable award
is given to faculty who are outstanding in teaching, research and
service. The recipient is awarded a $10,000 annual stipend.
