Teach Forward Houston Applications Open for Fall 2017

New Coogs admitted to the University of Houston for Fall 2017 are invited to apply for Teach Forward Houston. Teach Forward Houston is a prestigious fellowship developed in a partnership between the forward-thinking leaders of the Houston Independent School District and the University of Houston. Together, we are working to ensure our schools are staffed with highly effective teachers who have a vested interest in improving their community through education. The fellows of Teach Forward Houston will earn a Bachelor of Science in Teaching and Learning via the College of Education at the University of Houston, ultimately returning to their communities for up to four years as a classroom teacher and instructional leader on the front lines of education.

Award Amount: $20,000 Fixed - $5,000 /Academic Year (Split between Fall and Spring)

Eligibility for this scholarship requires:

  1. Be a current Houston ISD senior (Class of 2017).
  2. Meet the basic eligibility criteria for the federal student aid programs.
  3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). *Will be verified
  4. Be Admitted to the University of Houston for the 2017-2018 Academic Year. *Will be verified

Teach Forward Houston evaluates prospective fellows holistically. There are no minimum test scores, GPA, or other set criteria required in order to be considered but admission to the University of Houston and completion of FAFSA are required at time of application.
