Meet with an Alumni Career Counselor
Alumni who purchase a subscription can schedule sessions on any topic with an Alumni Career Counselor. Alumni Career Counselors coach, consult, and advise recent graduates and Alumni on various career development topics; how to use our resources and tools strategically, creating a structured job search plan, advise on cover letters and resumes, conduct mock interviews for job interviews and graduate school, administer career assessments and interpretations, etc… No matter your distance, Alumni Career Counselors are available over the phone, via Skype, or in person. Our tools, services, and resources can benefit Coogs anywhere! VIP Access at Alumni Career Fairs
Alumni who have a current ACS subscription will be able to meet with Employers prior to Alumni Career Fairs and get special invites to other VIP events. Alumni from the University of Houston can attend Alumni Career Fairs without subscribing to Alumni Career Services. Click here to view upcoming events!
A web-based job posting and retrieval service. Alumni have the option to use the search criteria for targeted positions or search for all available positions posted. Jobs are posted for 30-days or until the job is filled, whichever occurs first. Employers use this database to specifically target Alumni from the University of Houston. Employers post entry-level roles all the way up to Mid-level Management, Executive, and CEO roles. This database is for all Alumni no matter where you are in your career!
On-Campus Recruiting for Alumni
Alumni interested in interviewing with employers on campus can do so by uploading their resume online. Generally, employers who are seeking entry-level candidates use On-Campus Recruiting. Recent alumni, however, are regarded by many employers as entry-level candidates. Your Alumni Career Counselor can answer any questions you may have about On-Campus Recruiting.
CareerShift is the latest job search tool that is specifically designed for students and alumni looking to conduct their job search in one central location online. This new feature will give you access to the employee directory of most companies including contact information. It serves as a powerful job search engine that is managed by the alumnus from the creating and uploading of resumes to your profile to emailing the resume to contacts to the coordinated email campaign started and created by you. Career Assessments and Vocational Testing
Whether you are a recent graduate or a seasoned professional, it is always important to reflect upon your own personal strengths and career interests. Professionally designed tests are available that can help you to better define the career choices that are right for you. We currently offer the Myers-Briggs and Strong Interest Inventory Assessments. These computerized tests may be completed on-site or on the internet and are interpreted by an Alumni Career Counselor during a counseling session are free with a subscription.

Upon purchasing a subscription, an alumnus will be automatically added to the Alumni Career Services communications mailing list. You will be updated regarding hot jobs from the University Career Services' jobs database, professional development opportunities, upcoming career fairs, on campus interviews, community events, career related articles, and much more!
