Located on the second floor of the UC, the UC Business Office offers services to students, faculty and staff. Locker rentals are available for on-campus storage. The UC Business Office also sells tickets at discounted prices and International Student IDs for students traveling abroad.

Each fall, the University of Houston welcomes students to campus with a celebratory roar. The Cat’s Back event, this year themed “Be One” is an afternoon of activities designed to entertain, inform and inspire. This year, The Cat's Back, "Be One" event is on Wednesday, August 24th from 4:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m. at the University Center.

This event is now in its ninth year, and faculty and staff members are encouraged to help make this a day to remember for both new and returning students. A full schedule of Cat's Back related events will is available at www.uh.edu/thecatsback.

Cougar Byte, a computer store located on the 2nd floor of the UC, has computers, calculators, computer-related supplies, printers and a wide variety of software and hardware available for discount sale to students, faculty and staff. That's the suggestion of the staff members who provide assistance to all students with university-related concerns through the Dean of Students Ombudservice. The LGBT Resource Center seeks to create an environment of inclusion and acceptance for all LGBT students, staff and faculty. Through outreach, programming, education, advocacy, leadership and visibility, we strive to strengthen the UH LGBT community and to eliminate attitudes of homophobia, heterosexism, and gender identity oppression. Annual events such as National Coming Out Day are sponsored by the Center. It also provides a broad range of resources, activities, and support services such as a lending library, mentoring program, Cougar Ally Training, and a weekly Brown Bag Social Lunch.

Students, campus departments, and off-campus groups sponsoring nonprofit events can use the UC at an economical rate. We serve various groups ranging in size from 10 to 1000 persons. Events vary from conferences, seminars, workshops and symposiums to private functions. Located in the center of an excellent academic and learning enviroment, the staff in the UC Conference and Reservation Services Office can assist you in many areas. The Student Information and Assistance Center (SIAC) is available to the general University of Houston community as well as to the members of the visiting public. The SIAC provides information on a variety of campus-related services and activities to the general University of Houston community and serve as a drop-off, delivery, and distribution point for many UH departmental forms and documents.

This service is especially helpful for students who attend classes in the evenings or after many UH departmental offices have ceased daily operations. It enables the evening and nontraditional students to submit and pickup institutional forms and documents at nontraditional operating hours and thus lessen the potential for interference with their work schedules. The SIAC is funded by Student Service Fee.

UH maintains the largest and most comprehensive information resource and academic support department for student veterans of any college/university in the state of Texas. The VSO works closely with the VA certifying officials in the Registar's Office in supporting the unique needs of today's student veterans.


UH Wellness

UH Wellness has closed their UC office in room 35 due to our renovation project .

UH Wellness promotes a supportive environment for achieving a healthy lifestyle. This service provides information, referral and educational programs on stress management, prevention of alcohol and other drug abuse, sexual health, healthy relationships and related issues. Students and others are welcome to visit.
