The Texas Obesity Research Center works actively to promote interdisciplinary research, education and training, and fosters local community collaborations to develop state-of-the-art Obesity Prevention and Control methodologies through cross sectional and longitudinal research investigating psychosocial, environmental and biologic determinants of obesity and its consequences. The TORC Conference serves as a platform for exchange of obesity research from biological and physiological sciences, to epidemiology, public health, nutrition, and environmental policy.
Participants from previous conferences have represented both local and international institutions and organizations. Each conference features a keynote speaker from a distinguished institution, a networking poster session, and interactive demonstrations. Conference attendees have the opportunity to interact and network with scholars representing a national and international audience.
