About Me

I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and have lived in the Houston area since I was three. I enjoy biking, running, listening to music, watching the Houston Rockets, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy traveling and visiting my relatives in Pakistan. I am eager to begin a world class education at the University of Houston as a Biology major. I am excited to learn and live at UH, and I plan to take advantage of my time at Houston, as well as the Tier One Scholarship, by being a part of the abundant research opportunities, student organizations, and campus life.

Campus and Community Involvement

I spent three years as a Junior Volunteer at St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, mostly in the Emergency Room, Diagnostic Imaging, and Guest Relations departments. I was also a proud member of my high school’s varsity cross-country and track & field teams. I was a part of Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, and KEY Club. I plan on joining The American Medical Student Association at the University of Houston, the Honors Program in the Health Professions, and the Houston Undergraduate Research Network.

Awards and Honors

- AP Scholar with Distinction Award

- National Merit Commended Student

- National Spanish Exam Bronze Award

- Graduated Cum Laude

- CPHS Cross Country/Track & Field Varsity Letterman

- UH Tier One Scholarship

Study Abroad

I took Spanish classes for eleven years and plan on continuing at the university level. I would like to study abroad in Europe, where I can practice and be exposed to new languages, histories, and cultures.

I would like to begin using the research opportunities at UH as soon as possible and continue for all 4 years of my undergraduate studies. I hope to do research in health and biology related fields, as well as become a part of the Houston Undergraduate Research Network.

Future Endeavors

I would like to graduate with a major in Biology and minors in Business and Medicine & Society. I plan on becoming a part of the healthcare field in Houston, hopefully moving onto medical, dental, or optometry school.
