About Me

If I could be a student forever, I would be! I love learning new things and accepting the challenges that come with expanding your horizons. I love traveling, learning about other cultures and learning foreign languages. I study Vocal Performance because opera is my passion and I think it’s such a beautiful and living art form.

Campus and Community Involvement

I enjoy running, hiking, windsurfing and other outdoor activities. I am currently a member of the Council of Ethnic Organizations and the Catholic Student Organization.

Awards and Honors

I was distinguished as a National AP Scholar and a National Hispanic Scholar. I was selected as a finalist at the Classical Singer Competition at Texas Christian University. I participated in the Experiment of International Living, a language immersion and cultural exchange program, in Spain the summer of 2013. I was awarded a scholarship from the Moores School of Music in addition to the Tier One Scholarship.

Study Abroad

I plan on minoring in Italian and I strive to spend an academic year abroad in Milan, Italy. Because I study opera, Italy, the birthplace of opera, would be a great place to study in and fully immerse myself in the language as well.

Future Endeavors

I plan to pursue a graduate degree in Opera Studies at a conservatory in Europe. I hope to one day be a professional opera singer. I also want to become certified in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) so I can teach English abroad while continuing my music studies.
