About Me

Ever since I joined beginning band in 6th grade I have been passionate about music. Throughout junior high and high school I have participated in band and orchestra as a percussionist. I am a two-time TMEA All State Musician.

Campus and Community Involvement

I am a part of the Spirit of Houston drum line as a tenor drummer. I spend the majority of my time practicing for the myriad of ensembles that I participate in.

Awards and Honors

As a high school student I was honored to receive the KatyISD District Award of Excellence in the field of music. I was also a National Hispanic Merit Scholar and graduated with distinguished achievement in the top 10% of my class.

Study Abroad

Currently, I am not taking any languages but I have taken four years of Spanish in High School, one of which was an AP Spanish language class. I am interested in studying abroad to learn about different music styles in different cultures as well as practicing the Spanish I have spent so much time learning.

As of now, I am not quite sure what I would want to do for a research project. My guess is that it would have to do with music, but I’m not exactly sure what that would entail. I know that by learning more at the university level, my curiosity will be piqued and it will come to me eventually.

Future Endeavors

Once I finish my coursework at University of Houston, my goal is to attend Northwestern University to obtain my graduate degree in music performance. I will perhaps then continue my education elsewhere. All in all I would like to end up teaching percussion at a university somewhere and/or playing in a symphony.
