About Me

I have a variety of interests both academically and recreationally. Though I believe math and science are of the utmost importance, I still have an appreciation for history and the fine arts. I was involved in theatre throughout high school and, though I don’t plan to stay involved during college, going to see plays and musicals will always be one of my favorite activities. Music has played an important part in my life and I’ve always been inspired by it’s ability to evoke emotional responses from people.

Campus and Community Involvement

For my first year of school I want to focus on academics, so I’m only planning to be involved in a limited number of extra-curricular activities. However, I do have plans to be very involved in my community starting my sophomore year. I’ve been passionate about drawing and singing since childhood, and I hope to pursue these interests throughout my college career.

Awards and Honors

I graduated with Cum Laude honors and I was awarded a variety of scholarships because of this distinction. I qualified for and received the Fort Bend Academic Excellence award due to my consistent grades in each year of my high school career. Additionally, I was a semi-finalist for the National Achievement award.

Study Abroad

Studying abroad has always been one of my top priorities. I’m currently torn between wanting to study in Australia and Europe. My long-term goals include graduate school in either England or Scotland, but I feel that having any study abroad experience will be helpful in the end. Study abroad is a wonderful way to develop my communication skills and to immerse myself in new cultures.

Future Endeavors

I hope to find myself in a career that focuses on making sustainable products affordable for the average consumer. There are a number of international graduate programs that I believe will help me in this endeavor. As of right now, I am particularly interested in going to the University of York to get a Master’s in Environmental Economics.
