I would describe myself as motivated, friendly, and enthusiastic. I decided to major in Biology because I am greatly interested in the sciences - I love how there is still so much for us to discover in the world. Interestingly enough, in my free time I enjoy creative writing, specifically novels and poetry. To relax, I read novels across all genres but have yet to discover my favorite novel. I also like attending sport events (Go Coogs!), spending time with my friends, and spending time outside. I also have an incredible twin sister who attends the University of Houston. My favorite season is autumn since that is when Houston starts to cool down, and because my favorite holiday, Halloween, takes place right in the middle of fall!
Campus and Community Involvement
I volunteer at Foundry Methodist Church as a cheer instructor for kindergarteners when Foundry hosts their Upward basketball season. In high school I was president of the Creative Writing Club, a member of the National Honor Society, a participant in the Environmental Club, and was a cheerleader. I plan to join the American Medical Student Association and Bleacher Creatures, which is a spirit club for Honors students.
Awards and Honors
In high school I won the AP Psychology award and my cheerleading squad won first place at Nationals in Orlando, Florida. I also graduated Summa Cum Laude.
I took Spanish and high school and plan to continue studying it at UH. If I could study abroad, I would go to Spain to further understand the language and their culture, or I would choose Ireland because Ireland is such a beautiful country full of interesting places and history.
I would love to explore anything related to medicine and biology! The human mind has always been an object of interest, so I would love to do research related to that specific criterion.
Once I graduate I plan on attending medical school to become either a psychiatrist or a neurologist. I am fascinated with how the brain functions and would love to continue learning in this particular field. There is still the possibility that I might go into a different area of the medical field, but I am excited for whatever I decide on!
