About Me

I am inquisitive and like to gain different perspectives through open discussion. By hearing different points of view and examining my own I am able to see more clearly the depth and diversity in people around me. I also enjoy singing and am part of the University Men’s Corus.

Campus and Community Involvement

On campus I am part of Honors Advocates, helping recruit new students to the Honors College and the University of Houston. Off campus I am involved in my intercity church, Impact.

Awards and Honors

I was the salutatorian of my high school and was an All-State choir member. I also received the Houston Endowment Scholarship.

Study Abroad

I would love to travel to Italy and Greece since I have been reading some of the seminal works of western thought this year and would be fascinated to see the places they were conceived. Also I am interested to see how Modern Greek and Italian societies have embraced their rich past and developed it.

As a Sociology major, I am interested in studying population groups. By examining these groups, I will have the chance to explore peoples’ motivations and reasoning which I will use to raise awareness about current societal biases and possible solutions.

Future Endeavors

After finishing my four years at U of H, I plan to attend graduate school to purse a PhD in my field.
