About Me

I’m from a town in Oklahoma where my graduating class had less people than my calculus lecture at UH. I am loving UH and Houston; there’s so much to do and experience. I’m also in the Honors College - everyone says it, but Honors really has its own community and it’s a great one to be a part of. I am inspired by people who are dedicated to bettering themselves and the world around them. People working together to create a better life for themselves, their family, those around them and the world at large, I find very inspiring.

Campus and Community Involvement

I am a dancer and am still dancing at UH as a dance minor. I also have started swing dancing in Houston, which is amazing! I’m a member of Student Feminist Organization and the Planned Parenthood campus intern for UH; the people – men and women – are really awesome and I love how open-minded everyone is. I’m in University Dance Theater as well. I'm also an Honors College Ambassador. I’m running the Houston Half Marathon in January to raise money for the Organization for Autism Research.

Awards and Honors

I was on the Dean’s List both semesters my freshman year. I received an Honors College Scholarship in addition to TierOne.

Study Abroad

I took French in high school and plan to take either French or Spanish at UH. I would love to study abroad in France, Italy, Spain, or Greece. I’m indecisive so far!

Research

I would enjoy doing research in biomechanics or kinesiology. Right now, I would be excited to work on a project where I could get hands-on experience in laboratory research. I'm hoping to start on a project next summer.

Future Endeavors

I plan to get my master's in orthotics and prosthetics. I would love to work with veterans and the VA. I'm also considering medical school.
