About Me

I care a lot about my friends and family. Without their support and sacrifice, I could not have been as successful. Doubt is my motivation for success, as well as striving to get better. I am inspired by my dad’s hard work to earn a college degree while working part-time to support his family- especially just after having been relocated to the United States during the Vietnam War. It is through the successes of people such as my dad that I have come to appreciate the very simple proverb that I live my life by everyday, “hard work pays off.”

Campus and Community Involvement

I’m a member of the Honors College, Student Governing Board (SGB), UH HOSA Chapter, UH NSCS Chapter, and UH AMPS Chapter. On campus, I enjoy the UH Tennis and UH Cycling clubs. In my community I volunteer at Cypress Fairbanks Hospital.

Awards and Honors

In addition to the Tier One Scholarship Program, I am also a recipient of the ConocoPhillips Scholarship Program. My other achievements during high school include Honor Roll, AP Scholars, and National Honor Society (NHS).

    Study Abroad

I did not look much into study abroad until I realized how much it really has to offer. I would definitely take advantage of the opportunity to travel, learn another language, witness another culture, and even make some long-distance friends. My top pick for studying abroad is Japan, because I am fascinated by their language and lifestyle.

I am interested in scientific research, specifically with a focus on medicine and biological processes. I believe that can have a profound impact on the future. I would definitely take advantage of the opportunity to apply problem solving, critical thinking, and to gain hands-on experience- all while working with highly-trained faculty and graduate students.

    Future Endeavors

After college, I want to attend medical school and pursue a MD. I have a special interest for biological science and hope to one day use it to make a difference in the lives of others.
