History

Twisted Elegance Urban Dance Group, a non-profit organization, was founded on the campus of the University of Houston in the Spring of 2001. Under the phrase coined by Janet Jackson, Twisted Elegance was born out of a desire to perform at the university's annual Apollo Night.

Becoming the first non-band affiliated dance group, Twisted Elegance Urban Dance Group was recognized as an official student organization by the University of Houston in August of 2002.

Since its official inception, Twisted Elegance has performed at numerous events on campus and around the United States. Having collected many awards and recognitions in its short history, Twisted Elegance Urban Dance Group is sure to be a UH trademark for years to come.
