David Archer is President of Wellstorm Development. His career of more than 30 years has centered on technical computing for the energy business, where he has been at the vanguard of several innovative technologies. Among these are real-time predictive modeling and the use of web-based technologies for information management and exchange. He has developed, designed and/or managed the development of systems for pipeline simulation, well test analysis, nodal analysis, reservoir simulation workstations and seismic interpretation. Prior to joining Wellstorm, Dr. Archer was Vice President of Petris, President/CEO of POSC (now Energistics) and Vice President at INT and Director of Exploration Software at Western Atlas Software (now Landmark).
David received a Mathematics degree from TCU followed by MA and PhD degrees in Mathematical Sciences from Rice University. He began his career as a university professor with academic appointments at the Naval Postgraduate School and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He has been appointed Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at the University of Houston.
Dr. Archer is a member of the Rice Engineering Alumni Board, and was the recipient of the 2007 Management and Information Award from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
